Writing an interesting piece of music involves the exact same principals employed by the painter
In this workshop the participants will learn:
* The elements of a good composition * Identification of what the composer wants to express (story) * Blending the best combination of instruments (texture) * Key selection, meter, melody, and harmony (color) * Chord structure * Chord progression * Harmony/counter harmonies * Song formats (verse/chorus/bridge) * Recording and printing options

Over several generations, many of us have lost our connections with music. Not that long ago, music played an important role in our ancestor's daily lives. Somehow, we switched from taking an active part in music and became music listeners! Over the years there has developed a musical disconnect.
In this workshop, flute players will learn about some of the roadblocks that keep us from re-connecting with our musical soul and how to navigate around those barriers.
